I know Christmas is way over. Just wanna share this wonderful activity that I found from the blog No Time for Flashcards. You can adapt it for any season too, Easter, Mooncake festival, any event that involves ‘decorating’ something.
Nat’s birthday is always so close to Christmas and for his 2 year old birthday, so I decided to organise some Christmasy activities among him and his friends. A simple rule I learnt from guidelines for parties for kids – 2 years old – the birthday boy can handle 2 friends – his cousin and our close friend’s son.
So with the instructions from No Time for Flashcards, I made the Christmas Tree, with WX’s help. It was no easy feat trying to piece together sticky contact paper with the paper Christmas tree. But Nat really enjoyed decorating the Christmas Tree with the paper decorations – there were feathers, pom pom balls, confetti, cut shapes. After the party, he continued his ‘decorating’ and will re-decorate again as well and this was only made possible because of the sticky contact paper.
The sticky contact paper only lasted for 2 weeks, and everything thereafter started falling off. What did I do with the decorations from the aftermath? It was collage time! I love it when I recycle – “cheap thrill”. Haaa.
